When home health services are ordered by a physician for a homebound patient, Medicare typically covers skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, home health aide services, and medical social services. In most cases we can begin services within 24 to 48 hours of receiving a physician's order. Same-day starts are sometimes possible for urgent post-hospital discharge situations.
