Our Commitment
Shine Care Home Health is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe families researching home health care for a loved one deserve barrier-free access to the information they need.
Conformance Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities — visual, auditory, motor, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological.
What We've Built In
Features that support accessible use of shinecarehomehealth.com:
- Semantic HTML structure with descriptive headings and landmark regions
- Alt text on meaningful images
- Sufficient color contrast for body text against background
- Keyboard navigation throughout the site (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter)
- Focus indicators on interactive elements
- ARIA attributes on the mobile menu, language switcher, and lazy-loaded map
- Responsive layout that reflows for screen widths down to 320 pixels
- Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when your system preference is set
- Labeled form fields with autocomplete hints
- Language attributes on multilingual content
Known Limitations
We're continuously improving. Areas we know need attention:
- The embedded Google Maps iframe (loaded on click) is governed by Google's accessibility implementation
- Third-party form submission (FormSubmit.co) success-state messaging is being refined
- Stock photography may not have detailed alt text suitable for all assistive-technology contexts
